    Structured Rhyming Poetry Prompts

Six steps: check in, pick a theme and form, get a prompt, write, reflect, save. Rhyme gives the writing a shape when the feeling does not have one yet.

"Heal me, O Lord, and I shall be healed; Save me, and I shall be saved, For You are my praise."

    Jeremiah 17:14

    Step 1: Check in

How are you feeling right now?

    Select all emotions that apply

    Step 2: Theme and form

    Step 3: Your prompt

Drawn from the theme and emotions you chose. Change it as often as you like.

What burden have I been carrying, and what would it feel like to set it down?

    Step 4: Write

Format: Rhyming Couplets (AA BB CC)

    Rhyme finder

Matches on spelling, so read the results aloud to check that they sound alike.

Step 5: Reflect and title it

"Be strong and of good courage, do not fear nor be afraid of them; for the Lord your God, He is the One who goes with you. He will not leave you nor forsake you."

    Deuteronomy 31:6

    Step 6: Save and export

Saving keeps the poem in this browser only. Nothing is sent anywhere. Clearing your browser data removes it, so download a copy if you want to keep it.
