The Temperance Toolbox is offered for personal, non-commercial use. Using it means you accept the terms on this page and the limits described on the disclaimer page. If you do not accept them, please do not use the site.

Your entries

Whatever you write stays yours. It is saved in your browser and is never transmitted to anyone, so no rights in it are claimed or transferred. See the privacy page for how that storage works and what can erase it.

Keeping your own backup of anything important is your responsibility. Browser storage can be cleared by you, by your browser, or by your device, and there is no way to recover it once it is gone.

Accuracy and availability

The directories, hotlines, program listings, and reference material are checked when written and reviewed periodically, but organizations change their phone numbers, eligibility rules, hours, and web addresses without notice. Confirm anything you are relying on directly with the organization, particularly in an emergency.

The site is provided as it is, with no guarantee that it will be available, uninterrupted, error-free, or suitable for any particular purpose.

Third-party listings

Listing a therapy provider, government program, crisis service, app, or organization is not an endorsement, and no payment is accepted for inclusion. This site has no control over those organizations and is not responsible for their services, content, or conduct.
